I was totally surprised to receive a letter from the judge who presided over the jury trial I sat on week before last thanking me for being willing to perform my civic duty. When did doing your civic duty become something you need to be thanked for? It’s just something you do as an American citizen.
kimberly @jim I have jury duty this coming week. Nearly everyone I have mentioned this to has tried to give me their advice for how to get out of it. I say that I think it's important and I'm not trying to get out of it. I'm getting less patient every time I have to repeat that.
So yes, thanks for being a considerate citizen.
